NISMET

Nismet is fifteen. Years ago, her father left her and her mother Najoua, and has been out of the picture since. Najoua is raising her alone, with the occasional presence of another man, Denis.

One evening when Najoua is away, Nismet has to fight off Denis’ sexual advances. To protect her mother, she keeps it to herself. After her relationship with Denis deteriorates, Nismet decides to run away.

This four-episode series spans the course of Nismet’s first years of independence, from the disorderly rebelliousness of her mistreated youth to the beginning of her adult life.
